Welcome!

Welcome to the Peak Events blog. We created this blog for a number of reasons, but mainly because everywhere you turn, people say you must blog and we at Peak Events are succumbing to peer pressure and blogging away.


My name is Debbi and I started this business when I realized that most events in Flagstaff were produced by non-profits and volunteers. I have nothing against either – we at Peak Events make sure that all our festivals benefit a non-profit and as for volunteers – well they make the world a better place wherever they go. I wanted to take events to the next level. I’m a member of the International Festival and Events Association and the International Special Events Society, two organizations that are wonderful, and expect to finally finish my certification program in September. YEAH!!


Whenever I meet someone new, they always light up when I tell them I’m an event planner. “What a fun job – I so wish I could do something like that” are usually the responses I get. I politely smile and tell them I love my job – which I honestly do, always have, well maybe not always…… Like when you’re cleaning a porta pottie because someone thought it was a good idea to smear a baby diaper all over the walls, or when you’re trying to keep a tent from flying away in 50 MPH winds and no amount of sand, water or cinder blocks are going to keep it in place, and especially not when you find out that vendors have decided the weather just isn’t what they wanted to work in and decided not to show up and serve food! However, all of that can be erased when you watch the faces of people who attend your event. I believe in producing experiences and when you see someone attend an event that is planned and executed by the plan versus just the same old event as last year, it’s a high that’s hard to describe. I love planning events. I love thinking of new ways of doing things and I REALLY love watching people have fun.


The way this blog will work is everyone on staff will have a different color ink, so you’ll hear from everyone – the main person you’ll probably hear from is Jennifer. Jen is co-owner, creative, funny and a Virgo. For those of you who don’t know about Virgos – well let’s just say they can do ANYTHING with precision and organization that will knock your socks off. We also have Christina who is our fabulous wedding planner from Las Vegas who just came on board and is a great new addition to Peak Events. So, welcome to our blog. I’m still trying to get used to checking my Facebook and LinkedIn pages, so please don’t expect to hear from me a lot. I love to talk, but getting all those thoughts pass my lips and down to my fingers might be a stretch.
