It's Spring right?

I'm not so sure its Spring, because I'm looking out my window and its snowing! Its windy and cold and snowing! It sure doesn't feel like spring around here. Then again, its Flagstaff, Arizona and this is normal. Every year we get excited and start thinking about summer, planting flowers and getting a tan. Mother nature has a good laugh at us all. We did plant some flowers the other week, and my mother has started seeds for her garden this year. Heck I've put away all my winter clothes in hopes of warmer temperatures. But enough about the weather!

Peak Events is busy! I'll start with the run down of events we have lined up so far.

We start in June with a tax conference, which seems to be fitting as today is Tax Day! Then we have a break and can hopefully enjoy that warm Arizona weather, because starting in September we are SLAMMED!

We start out with our benefit concert for Habitat for Humanity of Flagstaff, called Rock the House! We are working so hard on this event right now. We are hoping for big name acts to come out and support a great cause, we have rental companies to call, food and craft vendors to sign up and posters to design! You can check out the progress of this event at www.flagstaffhabitat.org. And we will continue to blog about news that comes available.

The following weekend we have an Northern Arizona University Golf Tournament to put on. This tournament benefits some Native American scholarships on campus. We are very excited! We are hoping to draw an even bigger crowd than last year. We will be having it at the local public golf course and hopefully we will be able to give away some great prizes this year.

The following weekend, Christina, our wedding planner is putting on a wedding in Vegas! She has all that under control, thank goodness!

Then, its OKTOBERFEST 2009! Its going to be sunny and FABULOUS! We've got all our rentals lined up and ready to go. Currently we are looking for some sponsors for our wonderful event, so if you are interested in that or anything else, please check out http://flagstaffoktoberfest.com Then of course we've got food and craft vendors to get! We are really hoping to put on a weiner dog race... but for that we need dogs! So please email me if you want to compete. We are still working on entertainment for Oktoberfest, currently it looks like we will have the local favorite, the Buzzard Brothers!!! Check back to see who else we have.

So for four weeks, we will be crazy busy and loving every minute of it! We are hoping to throw in some weddings this year too! So all you brides, please contact us for your wedding day help!

Have a great Spring Day everyone! I hope its sunny and fabulous where you are!

Spring is here!

In the first week of April we had the beautiful sunshine! Then came the wind… Then wham snow! So I know I am still new to flagstaff, but wow! Debbi did warn me!

Time is flying by around here! It seems like things were just beginning! Oktoberfest is off the ground, vendor applications are up, and we are moving on to the sponsor packets. This is going to be a fantastic event, don’t miss the beer, music, and food October 3rd!

Habitat for Humanity is taking off! Sandy has come to volunteer her time with us. Jen, Sandy and I attended the restore/marketing meeting on Tuesday. If you are interested in volunteering for Habitat for humanity, they do so much more than building houses, please contact us if you would be interested in volunteering a few hours of your day to the very important Restore! We have been discussing band ideas, and I am thrilled with the options, read again soon to find out who is headlining for Rock the House in September!!!

The NAU Golf tournament is going to be fantastic, September will be an exciting month! So get out your golf clubs and your golf shoes, and come support a great cause!

And on wedding news… Dana from Glamorous occasions is putting together a special monthly gathering for all brides and vendors! This is going to be a great way to meet people in town and get to know all you anxious brides!

Summer is coming, and I am anxious to meet the summer brides who will take advantage of Northern Arizona’s PERFECT weather! I look forward to talking to you soon, and creating your dreams with you!

Christina

April

Spring in Flagstaff! UGH – one of the ugliest seasons around. Anyone who lives in Flagstaff knows that spring is the most temperamental of all seasons. It’s warm and windy, windy and sunny, cold and windy or windy and snowing. Basically it’s just a VERY windy season – which makes playing outside no fun at all. Probably a good thing so I can WORK on all the things that have to get done before my favorite season of all times hits – SUMMER!!!! Yes, that magical time when we can plant flowers, go to the lake and play golf is only weeks away. Right now, I’m working on three events that will take place in the fall and one that will take place next year. Habitat for Humanity will be holding their first annual fundraiser – ROCK THE HOUSE which will be held September 12th in Foxglenn Park and will be a day of music and good times. If you’re a golfer – be sure and attend the 9th Annual Native American Golf Tournament benefiting Native American Scholarships. This event will be held September 19th at Continental Country Club and boy are there some great prizes up for grabs. Oktoberfest – October 3rd in Wheeler Park – drink beer, listen to some great music and enjoy some yummy food. And be sure not to miss the How Fast is Your Weiner Dog Race at Oktoberfest this year – guaranteed to make you smile! Flagstaff Blues, Brews and Barbeques is only 14 months away and counting. I hope everyone is counting on attending – tickets will go on sale January 2010 and expect a great time and wonderful Blues acts! Nothing like sitting in the sun on a fabulous June day drinking a beer, eating BBQ and listening to some awesome blues acts. Enjoy your spring – hopefully it will pass without being too windy and cold and let’s get the summer started! And as always if you have any questions about any of these events – please give us a call!
